In addition, Jared Harris joins the FloChem team as senior of inside sales. As a recent graduate from the University of Guelph, Jared brings strong problem-solving skills to help support the sales team.
While studying in the Bio-Resource Management program, Jared specialized in economics and climate change science. He developed a keen interest in pesticide research under the supervision of Dr. Paul Sibley who directed his undergraduate thesis on solutions to the effects of neonicotinoid chemical pesticides on non-target organisms in Canada.
While completing his undergraduate degree, Jared also represented the University of Guelph as a varsity athlete on the men’s rugby and volleyball teams. Using effective leadership and communication skills he helped lead these teams to provincial silver and bronze medals respectively.
Jared finished his university career researching sustainable pest management techniques for various crops in Dr. Cynthia Scott-Dupree’s Agro-Eco Lab. As a master’s student, Jared presented his data at multiple conferences across Ontario such as the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable conference where his research won first place in the poster competition.
Jared is excited to be a part of the FloChem team and is looking forward to refining skills he developed through university and past work experience with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. He is eager to grow and to learn with his new team members.
